Poem: Let Go

Untitled_Artwork 105.jpg

There’s no great secret to life.

At least, I don’t think so.

It’s right there in your grasp,

You just have to let go.

Let go of the expectations

Of what you think life should be,

Of what you’ve been told,

Or what you think you should see.

Just look for yourself,

Look inside.

It’s a long, painful journey,

But that’s where it’ll hide.

Not in the pages of newspapers,

Or in politicians mouths,

On the board in the classroom,

Or up in the clouds.

It’s hidden in plain view.

In the warmth of your heart.

Allowing it grow and to thrive,

Now, there…

That’s an art.
